Grief + Gratitude: a workshop for navigating divorce

A small workshop with big intent. Please join Elise Pettus, founder of UNtied, a national network of women thriving through divorce, and workshop leader Jenny Douglas, founder and curator of The Brooklyn Cottage, for a unique three hour experience that has helped hundreds of women find ballast, clarity and meaningful community.

An intimate group (limited to 8 participants), will be guided through a succession of exercises, reflections and prompts to make space for contradictory feelings and productive exploration. While there will be writing, no one is expected to be "a writer." You will also be invited to share at intervals, but in a structured way that differs from traditional, open-ended, "support group" style discussions.

As scary as it might seem to enter this pool, what emerges is often surprising, and always a reminder that you are NOT alone. There is a well of nourishment and wisdom to be found in sharing this human experience in an intimate group of compassionate others. Don't miss this opportunity to taste it.

In the flow of everyday life, we often stifle the confusing emotions that come with the break-up of our marriage. But we shouldn't. Allowing ourselves the time to be in this big messy, often terrifying place, is almost always the key to moving forward. Some of us veterans of divorce can help others realize that, painful as it is, this transition can also bear previously unimaginable gifts.

"In myth, ritual and theology, a broken heart is not a symptom of derailment, but the start of anything that really matters.” Kimberley Patton, Harvard Divinity School
