Grief + Gratitude: a workshop for navigating divorce
A small workshop with big intent. An intimate group (limited to 8 participants), will be guided through a succession of exercises, reflections and prompts to make space for contradictory feelings and productive exploring. While there will be writing, no one is expected to be "a writer." You will also be invited to share at intervals, but in a structured way that differs from traditional, open-ended, "support group" style discussions.

Monthly Member Salon
We have held a number of excellent open conversations in our first year that touched on matters relevant to current life here in the community and the culture at large. We wish to deepen them, and bring members' own expertise into play. So, we are excited to launch a new monthly salon-style conversation at Electric House about subjects that are both of-the-moment, and that allow our community to learn from regional experts, and from each other.

Community Drinks: Celebrating Spring Equinox
Come have a beverage with us! We really look forward to these monthly member and coworker gatherings when we get to slow down and have a little fun together. Not a member? No worries, join us anyway and hear what we're up to!

Experimental Collage Workshop with Dana McClure
Join us for an afternoon of communal creativity! Local artist Dana McClure will lead a series of collage experiments designed to bridge the gap between the logical, structured left brain and the intuitive, playful right. Through a mix of drawing, painting, and cut-and-paste activities, we’ll explore how our individual perceptions can be endlessly unique while still sharing common creative impulses. Step beyond goal-oriented thinking and embrace the freedom of subconsciously led exploration. With an emphasis on side-by-side making and discovery though process, each participant will leave with a ready-to-frame original mixed-media art piece.

Community Drinks / Bring a Friend Edition
Join us for our monthly community drinks gathering, and bring a friend! If you haven’t coworked with us, we’ll give you a complimentary day pass to try us out!

North River Passage: Hudson Valley to Brittany
Please join us for the launch of a new zero carbon transatlantic shipping route. Pioneering sail cargo vessels Grain de Sail and Schooner Apollonia have teamed up to export Hudson Valley goods to France, by sail! Come learn more, join the crew for a 3:30 presentation and Q&A, and stay for a taste of Grain de Sail's French wines, craft chocolates and local bourbon. RSVP HERE.

An Evening of Hygge
Gather with our community around warm fires and enjoy light fare and cocktails–including a delicious zero proof option for those of you invested in Dry January. We look forward to kicking off 2025 with this dynamic group of friends and sharing more about what’s to come!
Electric House Holiday Market
Shop handmade and sustainably made or sourced furniture, clothing, art and small goods, as well as children’s books from local creators and makers. Confirmed vendors include NY Heartwoods, Eleven Six, Ravenwood, Dana McClure Studio, Hudson Workshop, Edible Living, Samara Esposito, Twenty-Five Words, The Falls, Likeminded, Holly’s Garden Skincare and Catskill Create.

Who Needs It?
Is any development actually sustainable? Please join us–a small gathering of neighbors, advocates, design professionals, planners and developers–to talk about prospects for finding projects that we can all get behind.

Open Eyes - Curious Creatures
Join Barbara Bash, award winning children’s author and illustrator, as she draws images and shares stories about her books. Children will have an opportunity to draw, and books will be available for purchase and signing.

Morning Meditation
Bansuri flute master Steve Gorn will guide our community in a morning meditation to bring mind and body into balance–with the right sound, at the right time, and in the right place. Start your day feeling grounded and renewed. If there is interest we will make this a regular offering!

Beyond Red + Blue
Who will we be together after the election? Join local civic leaders (past and present) in a discussion about how to fortify our Rondout Valley home as a refuge of resilience, collaboration and respect, against the backdrop of national division. Bring your high schooler, too!

TGIF Gathering
Join us for our semi-regular drinks and conversation event for the Electric House community and curious newcomers. Let’s talk about upcoming programs and your future ideas, too!

Drop-In Drinks
The six pear trees we planted last November along our Cooper Street wall are bearing more fruit than we can snack on at our desks. What else to do but cook up some delicious pear-themed dishes and throw a party?
